🎾 Tennis Player Prop Definitions

Definitions for tennis player props including aces, games, break points, and more—explaining how each stat is counted, graded, and treated in special match scenarios.

Updated over a week ago

✅ When Does a Pick Become Action?

A tennis player prop is considered action once the player plays at least one official point in the match.

  • If a player does not take the court → the pick is voided (DNP – Did Not Play).

  • Once one official point is played → all picks become active.

🎾 What Happens If a Player Retires or is Injured and stops playing?

If a player retires after the match has started, settlement is based only on what actually occurred in official match play.

How Each Prop Type Is Settled

🏆 Match Winner

If a retirement occurs:

  • The non-retiring player is graded as the winner.

🎯 Games Won / Games Played

Settled using only the games actually completed at the time of retirement.

Example (Best of 3):

Score at retirement:

  • Set 1: 6–4 : Player A won Set 1 (6 Games)

  • Set 2: 1–1

Actual totals:

  • Games Won (Player A): 7

  • Total Games Played: 12

Settlement uses:

  • 7 Games Won

  • 12 Games Played

💥 Aces / Break Points Won / Other Stats

Settled using the official statistics recorded up to the moment of retirement.

Example:

If a player has:

  • 4 Aces

  • 2 Break Points Won

At retirement, those are the final settled totals.

🎾 Set-Based Props

Only completed sets count.

If a set is not finished at the time of retirement, it does not count toward set-based projections.

📌 Important Notes

  • Settlement follows official match statistics.

  • Retirement does not void the match once one official point has been played.

🌦️ Weather Suspensions & Venue Changes

Tennis matches may be paused or moved due to weather or playing conditions, including rain, darkness, extreme heat, or shifts between outdoor and indoor courts.

  • If a match is suspended, it will resume from the exact point where it stopped.

  • If a match is moved to a different court or indoors, play continues under the same match conditions.

  • All official stats remain valid, and grading is unaffected by delays, suspensions, or venue changes.

Weather delays and court changes have no impact on the action status of props or on stat accumulation—everything continues once play resumes.
