⚡️ Live (In-Game) Projections: Rules, Grading, & Void Policy

Everything you need to know about how Live (In-Game) Projections work, how they’re graded, and what happens when injuries or delays occur.

Updated this week

1. What Are Live (In-Game) Projections?

Live markets are projections offered after a game has begun. This is also know as In-Game Projections. These projections are adjusting dynamically and in real-time based on a number of factors and may change at any moment.

The numbers you see on screen can adjust up or down depending on what is happening in the game.

Live projections operate the same way as all other projection types:

  • They follow the same payout formats

  • They are subject to all standard Payday Fantasy entry rules

  • They follow the same grading and eligibility framework

2. Finding Live Projections 🔍

Live projections become available only when a game is actively in progress. When live projections are available, you’ll see them appear inside the LIVE tab along with tools to filter and browse in-game lines.

Live Tab

This button will display all currently available in-game projections for each sport.

When a game begins, eligible live projections automatically populate here for you to select and add to your entry slip.

Live Market Indicators

  • LIVE badge → This is an active in-game projection

  • ⏸ Paused → Temporarily unavailable. It will be offered again when updated.

  • ⚠️ The “has” statistic reflects the most recent data we have for the player, but it may be delayed or inaccurate. It is not official data and is provided for convenience only. It is not guaranteed to be precise or real-time and should not be relied upon as an authoritative or actionable source of information.

Once you tap a live projection, it will be added to your entry slip—where you will be notified if anything changes before submission.

3. Adding Live (In-Game) Projections to Your Entry Slip 📝

You can freely combine Live & Pre-Game Picks 🔄 :

  • Live projections

  • Pre-game projections

  • Alt lines

  • Different sports

Live Lines Are Dynamic Until You Submit

When you select a live projection, it appears on your entry slip just like any other projection—but the line is not locked yet.

When you add a live projection to your entry slip:

  • The projection line may update

  • The multiplier may adjust

  • The selection may temporarily pause or become unavailable

If the projection changes after you add it to your entry slip but before you submit the entry:

  • You will be notified that the line has changed

  • Show exactly what changed (projection or multiplier)

  • Require you to accept or decline/remove the updated projection before submitting

  • You cannot submit your entry until you acknowledge and confirm the change

This ensures users always submit entries with full visibility and consent regarding the exact projections and projections and multiplier being locked in.

As a reminder, all projections, multipliers, and availability in live markets are extremely dynamic and may update at any moment, but once you submit your entry, the locked projection and multiplier will be the values used to grade your entry.

How Live Selections Appear

Live projections on your slip will display:

  • A LIVE icon

  • The exact projection and multiplier that apply at the moment you submit

After you submit your entry:

  • All live projections become fully locked

  • No additional updates or movements will affect your entry

  • Each projection will be graded exactly as it appeared at submission

  • Once submitted, all entries are final and cannot be canceled or reversed. No exceptions.

From that point forward, live projections follow the same rules as all other projection types, including:

  • Eligibility requirements

  • Void Policy

  • Settlement Procedures

4. How Live Picks Are Defined & Graded 🎯

Live selections use full-game stats, not only stats recorded after your pick.

Example:
If you submit a pick at halftime, points from the first half still count.

Live entries follow the same core Payday Fantasy rules:

  • TIE/Pushes

  • Voids

5. Void Policy for Live (In-Game) Projections

Live projections follow the same void policy rules as all other Payday Fantasy projections and each of the league rules. Except for any selections made outside of the qualifying Void period for the sport. (e.g. 2nd Half for NBA, NFL or 2nd Period for NHL etc)

If a user makes a live, in-game selection outside of the void qualifying period, the void policy does NOT apply, even if the player gets injured afterward.

Example:
You choose a live projection in the 3rd quarter.
The player is injured later in the 3rd or 4th quarter and does not return.
Your selection stands. It will NOT void.

6. Technical Errors & Operator Discretion

While Payday Fantasy relies on real-time data feeds to power live and pre-game projections, occasional technical issues may occur. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Delayed or missing data from providers

  • Incorrect or incomplete stat reporting

  • Invalid or mispriced projection lines

  • Suspended or corrupted game feeds

  • System errors affecting line availability, projections, or settlement

If any of these technical issues impact the integrity of a projection or entry, Payday Fantasy reserves the right to void or adjust affected legs or entries at our sole discretion.

When Technical Voids May Apply

A void may be issued if:

  • A projection was displayed incorrectly due to a data feed error

  • A line or multiplier was clearly wrong, invalid, or unavailable

  • A projection was offered when it should not have been (e.g., after player ejection, mid-injury, or unavailable status)

  • A significant discrepancy exists between provider data and official league data

  • A systemic outage prevents accurate grading or fair availability

  • A user was able to select a projection that should have been suspended or removed

In rare cases where the accuracy of a projection cannot be confirmed, affected legs may be voided.

User Impact

When a technical void is applied:

  • Only the affected leg(s) will be voided whenever possible

  • Multi-pick entries may adjust according to the standard payout logic

  • Full refunds may occur when required by platform rules (e.g., 2-pick entries with 1 void)

This policy ensures fairness for all users and maintains the accuracy and reliability of the gameplay experience.
